Cinema for Crystal Palace Ltd

‘Cinema for Crystal Palace Limited’ (“CFCP Ltd”) was set up in 2013 and is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee formed, managed and owned by local residents and traders for the purposes of the following objects or such other objects which CFCP Ltd shall determine from time to time as complementary to and not inconsistent with our objects:

  • To act as the legal personality and corporate body of the Picture Palace Campaign (‘PPC’)
  • To support, promote and facilitate the following fundamental objects , whether through the PPC or the independent activities of CFCP Limited:

> Enhancing the economic, social and cultural development and interests of the Crystal Palace Triangle and the amenity of local residents through the establishment of a professionally run cinema in the Crystal Palace Triangle or other suitable location or venue

> To identify, explore the feasibility of or secure appropriate sites or venues for the delivery and operation of a professionally run cinema in the Crystal Palace Triangle or other suitable location or venue

> To identify, explore the feasibility of and secure the objects of the PPC through the establishment of partnerships, relationships or joint ventures with other appropriate legal, commercial, governmental, charitable, voluntary or not for profit entities,

(together the ‘fundamental objects of the PPC’)

  • To support, promote and facilitate the following ancillary objects, whether through the PPC or the independent activities of CFCP Limited:

> Preserving, protecting and promoting the opportunity for the delivery and operation of a professionally run cinema at 25 Church Road, Upper Norwood (“25 Church Road”) or such other suitable location or venue

> Preserving and protecting appropriate D2 ‘Assembly and Leisure ‘ planning use of 25 Church Road or such other suitable location or venue

> Preserving, protecting and promoting the economic, social, historic, architectural and cultural significance of 25 Church Road

> Preserving, protecting and promoting 25 Church Road as a public entertainment venue, example of an art deco cinema , community asset and landmark building in the Crystal Palace Conservation Area

> Challenging through all lawful means inappropriate use of and development of 25 Church Road or other appropriate site or venue which diminishes, harms or restricts the goals of the CFCP Limited or the PPC or the economic, social, historic, architectural and cultural significance of 25 Church Road or the amenity of local residents and traders

(together the ‘ancillary objects)

  • To work in partnership with local residents, traders and other members of the Crystal Palace community, appropriate stakeholders and relevant elected representatives and local and regional authorities to deliver or enhance the opportunity of a professionally run cinema in the Crystal Palace Triangle or other suitable location or venue

(the community partnership objects)

  • To take all appropriate steps or actions to achieve the fundamental, ancillary or community partnership objects set out above or such other appropriate objects which are complementary to and not inconsistent with the above;
  • To achieve the fundamental, ancillary or community partnership objects set out above or such other appropriate objects having regard at all times to the CFCP Limited’s principles of diversity, equality, inclusivity and mutual trust and respect
